Guru Hargobind Singh Ji
• Gurdwara Garna Sahib is situated at a distance of about 1 ½ km from the railway station, Garna Sahib, and about 1km from village Bodal, tahsil Dasuya.
Gurdwara Garna Sahib is also built in the sacred memory of Guru Hargobind.
The Sixth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji visited this place while on his way from Kartarpur, Preaching Sikhism. A dense forest of Garna trees existed here. When Guru Ji was crossing the forest, a dried bush of Garna tree caught in Guru Ji's dress. Guru Ji stopped and asked his followers to bury that bush in the ground and blessed it by saying : "You have stopped us, so you will grow green again and stop problems of people and all their wishes would be fulfilled by just touching you". Guru Ji went to Mukerian. When Guru Ji visited this place again, that dried bush had grown into a full fledged tree. Guru Ji sat under the tree. A Chuhad Rababi (a musician) of this Village came and sang Hymns in front of Guru Ji. Guru Ji was pleased and blessed him with a Rabab (a musical instrument) and left for his journey.
• The Guru is said to have planted a dried branch of a garna tree here which grew up as a tree and hence the name 'Garna Sahib'. Fairs are held here on every Maghi, Sankrant, Amavas and Baisakhi. Besides, a fair is held on the birthday of Guru Hargobind in the month of June. A large number of people visit the place and free langar is served. There is a museum on the upper storey of the Gurdwara, where paintings of Sikh Gurus are displayed.
