• Gurdwara Jand Sahib is a historical shrine situated at village lahili kalan in Hoshiarpur district of Punjab.
This place was visited by Guru Har Rai. The Gurdwara is situated 3 kilometers internal to the main highway i.e Chandigar-Hoshiarpur highway in village lahili kalan near chabbewal.
Guru Har Rai giving medicine for cure of Dara Shikoh
The Seventh Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Har Rai Ji stopped at this place in 1651 for 3 Days alongwith 2200 horse-riders army, while on his way to Shri Harmandir Sahib (the Golden Temple) for Diwali Festival. Guru Ji had tied his horse to a Jand tree which still exists. At this place Guru Ji cured Dara Shikoh (eldest son of Mughal Emperor Shahjahan) to whom Aurangzeb (another son of Mughal Emperor Shahjahan) had given a hair of Lion's Mousttache to eat. Guru Ji gave medicine to Dara Shikoh which contained Young Harad (Terminalia Chebula) of 50 grams and Cloves (Syzygium aromaticum) equal to 3-Massa in Weight. Dara Shikoh got well and presented a horse with Silver kathi (Saddle), costly Dushalas and some other items to Guru Ji.
