• GURUDWARA SHRI TOBHA BHAI SHALO JI DA is situated in the Dsitt City Amritsar. Toba Bhai Shalo Is located near Gurudwara Guru Ke Mahal, where the ninth Sikh Guru was born and Qila Lohgarh Sahib, In the City of Amritsar. The building of the Gurudwara dates back to the Sikh era, during the reign of Maharaja Ranjit Singh 1799-1839, Its architectural designs are very Ranjit Singh's era. It is situated in the hall bazaar area of Amritsar marks the place of pond where Bhai Shalo ji used to stay while construction of Amritsar City. Bhai Shalo Ji was born on 29th September 1554 in Dhaula Kangra village, in Malwa region. His father was Bhai Dyala Ji and mother was Mata Sukhdei Ji. His parents were followers of Hazrat Sakhi Sarvar and turned into gursikh, after meeting SHRI GURU RAM DASS JI. Bhai Sahib's parents went to Majitha and Bhai sahib stayed with GURU SAHIB and started selfless service (sewa) and meditation (simran).
This Gurudwara has been built at the place where Bhai Shalo Ji once resided. Bhai Shalo Ji was a devoted Sikh of the time of Fourth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Ram Das Ji, Fifth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Arjun Dev Ji and Sixth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. He had built a Sarai (Dharamshala) for the visitors to the Golden Temple, constructed a Pond and was the caretaker of the Amritsar City. He brought the traders and the workers for establishing the City and collected fuel required for the Kiln to make bricks from many Villages. Guru Ji was very pleased with his service and blessed that anyone who would bath with pure heart in Bhai Shalo Ji's Pond, he would be blessed with a son and weak children would become healthy.
